What Happened to Solectrac?

Solectrac was a California-based company founded in 2012 with a mission to revolutionize agriculture through clean, quiet, electric tractors. They gained early recognition as a pioneer in electric farming equipment, producing models like the e25 Compact Electric Tractor, the eUtility, and the e70N. Their products aimed to reduce emissions and operating costs for small to mid-sized farms, orchards, and vineyards.

In 2020, Solectrac was acquired by Ideanomics, a publicly traded company focused on electrification and sustainability. While the acquisition initially promised expanded production and support, internal shifts and financial headwinds followed.

By early 2024, Solectrac ceased manufacturing operations, and support channels went quiet. As of mid-2024, the company no longer appears to offer active customer service, spare parts distribution, or official technical support. Owners were left with fully electric tractors — and no centralized service or documentation resources.
